The refrigerator is not free of frost and will require manual defrosting at times to ensure its performance is at its best. It was also fairly quiet and had a noise score of 42dB. This is still a little more raucous than the cheaper models, but it's far quieter than the earlier refrigerators we've tested, which made quite a lot of noise when running.
Swan has kept its design simple, which is an advantage when it comes to ease-of-use. The fridge has an LED bulb light and a rotary thermostat control for temperature. The temperature was extremely stable, with the middle and top shelves only fluctuating by a few degrees each side of their normal and the salad drawer was at a steady 2oC. However we did notice that it was quite warm at the back and could be a problem in warmer rooms.

This refrigerator also had a high degree of temperature stability. The top shelf, middle and bottom all offered an average temperature that was within two degrees either way of the maximum temperature. The salad drawer was a little more variable, oscillating between 5oC and below freezing.
As with the SR11010, the fridge needs an occasional manual defrost but is classified as A+ for energy efficiency. This is the most energy-efficient fridge freezer in our Best Buy chart. It will keep your electricity bills at a minimum.
